Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe
in the La Sal Mountains or Snowmobile on the
Colorado Plateau. Within 95 miles of the
Inn, one can take a day trip to Telluride,
Colorado for alpine skiing. The Inn can get a
total of 6 to 14 feet of snow during any given
winter. The 7500 feet elevation affords cool
summer temperatures and mild winter
temperatures. The deep white snow that blankets
the La Sal Mountains is an outdoor persons
delight. One can venture on south mountain
roads or trails to meadows and lakes closed to
vehicle traffic. There will even be days when
you will have the mountain to yourself.
Winter in the National
Parks.
A winter hike in Canyonlands
National Park can begin at 11:00 am until dark.
One can experience being the only person in the
park. The afternoon temperatures can be between
40 to 60 degrees depending on the winter
season. A winter hike or four wheel drive in
Canyonlands, is a premiere winter activity. We
recommend hiking in the parks during the months
of November, December, January and February.
Treat your family to a holiday visit to Mt.
Peale, we are open Thanksgiving, Christmas, and
New Years Eve. However, make sure to book
early.
