For 13 years, Mt. Peale has been
a soulful place of refuge and renewal for guests
from around the world. We have been blessed
with gifts given in the spirit of love by staff,
guests, and volunteers.
We welcome all in the spirit of conenction

Artist in Residence
Program
Our artist in residence program is perfect for
artists seeking a retreat from the demands of
ordinary life. (see individual

Mt. Peale's Volunteer
Program
Mt. Peale's volunteer program is a life
experience. Volunteers support the
day-to-day activities of running Mt. Peale,
working in such departments as kitchen,
housekeeping, maintenance, or grounds
keeping. Volunteer help is crucial to
maintaining and operating this life shifting
facility.
Volunteer Benefits
In exchange for providing service to
departments, volunteers receive a wide range of
benefits, including:

meals each day, lunch is available, self
serve.

of facilities, including the hot tub

Opportunity to live in a diverse community of
people from all over the world

activities, such as fires, etc.
Volunteer Life at Mt.
Peale
Accommodations
One to six-month Resident
Volunteers will stay in a shared room.
Shared rooms are located in the main lodge.
Each room accommodates two volunteers, and has
its own bathroom facilities.
All accommodations for resident volunteers
include bed sheets, pillows, and towels.
In addition to sleeping space, volunteers have
access to communal lounge areas that include a
TV/VCR/DVD player for movie watching, wireless
internet access, and shared phones. However,
guests do have priority when using the
TV/VCR/DVD.

Volunteer Information
Volunteers receive many guest
amenities (accommodations, meals, classes, spa,
acres of open space, utility consumption -
electricity, water, propane, plus free laundry
use) .
Volunteering requires a strong, consistent 30
hrs/week service by persons who are passionate
and committed to the adherent educational and
social benefits of participation in the Mt. Peale
team.
Upon acceptance into the program a deposit of
$300 is required to hold space for
volunteers.
A $500 per month stipend will be issued to
each volunteer upon turning in a time card for
hours worked.

You will receive more detailed information if you
are accepted in the program.
What is required of me during my
residency at Mt. Peale?
You are required to provide specific
services, in the spirit of love to our
guests. We require mature individuals in
good health with positive attitudes to assist us
in serving others. We welcome all people
regardless of race, social standing, or sexual
preference. As a resident volunteer, it is
expected that you will provide a high standard of
guest services and will be mindful of your role
as a representative or Mt. Peale at all
times.
Is Mt. Peale a spiritual
community?
There are people ar Mt. Peale who are on
specific spiritual paths, but we would not
classify ourselves as a spiritual community, nor
a counseling , rehabilitation center. We
are a center, here to serve our guests as they
seek rest, relaxation and an environment for
learning and fun.
What is my volunteer
schedule?
We will inform you of which department you
will be serving in prior to your arrival.
All positions at Mt. Peale are of great
importance to our guests' experience
here. You will begin your volunteer
service after your two day rest period upon
arrival. Your Department Manager will give
you your volunteer schedule.
